Mark Sujan holds degrees in Computer Science (MSc, PhD) from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (Germany), and a PG Cert in Higher Education from the University of Warwick. Mark is a Chartered Ergonomist and Human Factors Specialist (C.ErgHF). He has more than 20 years of experience developing, applying and teaching human factors and safety engineering methods in traditional safety-critical industries and in healthcare. His particular areas of interest are organisational learning, failure analysis, and Safety-II. He has published widely on these topics in both academic and professional journals. Mark is a member of the editorial board of Reliability Engineering & System Safety, Health Informatics Journal and BMJ Health and Care Informatics. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), which promotes and recognises teaching excellence, a Fellow of the Safety and Risk Society (FSaRS) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (MCIEHF). He is also a member of the Health Foundation Q initiative, which is a forum for people devoted to quality improvement in healthcare.
